Alison Sudol
Music was a male-dominated space to live in and so accepting this type of femininity was an exciting challenge for me. The idea that I could be feminine, strong and supple, but still maintain a healthy lifestyle, without reducing myself, was a difficult one for me. I've loved it quite a bit, I've loved wearing heels and dresses each day, and having pretty curls and soft materials. It was a bit of pressure since I'm a younger actor than everyone else on the set of Fantastic Beasts. However, I was struck by this odd impression during the auditions that there was an immense power behind me. I could be crushed under it, and fall apart because of how much I wanted to be there and the magnitude of it or climb over the the top and let it pull me forward. You can go for days in the streets, exploring museums or coffee shops, as well as parks and just observing individuals. It's easy to feel lonely in LA however London's Tube allows you to be at the center of everything. All kinds of human being is visible. I am awestruck by people. I come from the music world, that is where you're always in the presence of males, and you're sure that there's a real intimacy all the time working with guys. This is a fantastical, wild dream. I have read the whole series. The novels I've read while on tour were very vivid and strong. The worlds they create are wonderful to lose yourself within.
